Holywell High School is an English medium comprehensive school for 11-18 year olds in Flintshire, Wales. It serves the town of Holywell and neighbouring villages and rural communities in the northern part of the county. The roll is currently 840 pupils.
It is an inclusive school with a strong community ethos. The school is noted for the care and attention given to the personal and social development of each individual student. The school tries very hard to maintain a friendly and secure environment.
The School actively promotes high standards of achievement and discourages antisocial behaviour. This should ensure that a positive atmosphere prevails in the school.
There is a range of extra-curricular activities, especially in sport, science and the arts. These provide an important and valuable extension to students’ experiences.
The current headteacher at the school is John Putt BA, NPQH, who has been in the role since September 2007.
The building standing today was built in the 1950s. Previously, the building was located further up from where it currently stands, the old school site has since become a residential area.
